Sex Offender Registry

This is a topic that is important to me, the Tacoma Police Department and the community action group I belong to and have worked with over the last three years. The Sex Offender Registry is inadequate and confuses real threats with more harmless idiots that did what idiots do, pee on a tire, drive naked or some other stupidity while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

If these idiots are removed from the registry then we have an accurate registry of those individuals that are very real threats, convicted child molesters, convicted rapist and so on. That is the purpose of the registry, is it not; to inform the public so they can protect themselves from these threats.

I do not want to have things my way. This registry affects us all and if you are unable to protect your children and family from real threats because you are unable to discern the real threat from the phauph threat because some guy that had too much to drink peed on a tire or streaked in college, what is the use of the registry? If a legislator supports this convolution of information, what use is that legislator?
